There come times when it is possible to forecast the results of a contest, of a battle, of a lawsuit long before the final event has taken place. And so far as our struggle for civil rights is concerned, the struggle for civil rights in America is won. What I am more concerned about is the fact that the Negro shall not be content simply with demanding an equal share in the existing system. It seems to me that his historical challenge is to make sure that the system which shall survive in the United States of America shall be a system which guarantees justice and freedom for everyone.

Those who profess to favor freedom and yet deprecate agitation, are men who want crops without plowing up the ground, they want rain without thunder and lightning. They want the ocean without the awful roar of its many waters. This struggle may be a moral one, or it may be a physical one, and it may be both moral and physical, but it must be a struggle. Power concedes nothing without a demand. It never did and it never will."

Meet Greg L. Davis

Greg L. Davis was born and raised in Austin, Texas. In his sophomore year in high school, Greg discovered both a gifting and interest in writing, and it was at that time he developed the discipline of journaling. In his mid-20s, Greg began to experiment with writing poetry and would eventually start a tradition of crafting poems for family members, most notably his wife La Tonya, on special occasions.

After graduating with an undergraduate degree in Business Management from the University of Texas, San Antonio, Greg spent 14 years in corporate America before serving as an associate pastor for 15 months. Although I have been writing in various capacities for over 40 years, it was on a Friday afternoon in January 2023 that I made the commitment to become a professional author and speaker. Having a love for history and humanities from the days of my youth and, having acquired a myriad of diverse and unique experiences in business environments and in life in general, in that epiphanic moment in January, it became evident that my life’s journey, not to mention my gifting in, passion for, and experience with writing, had prepared me well to step into this role.
